Job Description:

The George D. Alan Company is seeking a Safety Construction Coordinator for our Austin Office! JOB DESCRIPTION: Site Safety Representative General Job Requirements: All company employees must pass a pre-employment drug test and physical. All office personnel, regardless of position, are expected to answer phones as part of their individual job duties. Safety Specific Job Duties: Help coordinate all safety services as directed, described below and according to OSHA requirements and company policy. Conduct job site safety inspections as assigned and complete all associate paperwork. Ensure all field staff are working in compliance with Company Policies and OSHA standards. Perform all accident investigations within 24 hours, including preparation of written report per the Injury Reporting procedure when requested by Safety Manager. Review all jobs prior to commencement for safety considerations and in collaboration with the Safety Manager. Make all safety corrections immediately upon discovery, even if it requires the cessation of work, or removal of personnel from the workplace. Quality Assurance Job Specific Duties: Perform on-site Quality Control/Quality Assurance Inspections and report and record the results per schedule and as assigned by Supervisor. Issuance of the Non-Compliance Reports and overseeing and recording the proper Non-Compliance Follow-up Report results. Report daily operations status to management and update, as necessary. Review plans, specifications, and manufacturer’s instructions for proper material installation during pre-construction meetings and work in progress. Attending the Pre-job conference with Foreman & Estimator/Project Manager, and Project Coordinator and record-keeping of this process for company and affiliates per schedule and as assigned by Supervisor. Training Specific Duties: Periodic review of the published Company Training Calendar. Work in collaboration with the training team to ensure employees are properly trained for the work being performed. Quality Control assistance and oversight during Company Training Programs. This may include, but not limited to presentations, demonstrations, and hands-on/mockup review. Administrative Duties: Assist with the Quarterly Safety Equipment Inspections for company and affiliates. Periodically review Employee Development Program to ensure proper employee documentation and training. Report and document any safety or quality violations to company management. Ensure compliance and documentation of the company Quality Control Program. Review and Assist with Quality Control project submittals, such as site-specific reports or support training documentation. Project Management: Complete Job Set-up and Start-up functions on jobs sold including: The contract set up to include reviewing all agreements of jobs personally closed to ensure that the scope of work bid matches terms and conditions of the contract, that exclusions are correct, and contract amount matches bid amount Budget and Schedule of Values are created Work Order/Work Report generation Procurement of Insurance/Tax Exempt forms Submittals Procure Shop Drawings Schedule and attend preconstruction (Pre-Con) job conferencing Follow proper contract set up procedures per company policy Review all PO’s and vendor invoices of purchases for jobs under contract. Coordinate customer relations and requests. Personally coordinate any technically difficult installations Ensure the construction is performed in accordance with plans and specifications as well as completed in accordance with all company safety policies and procedures. Review work completed on-site for proper installation and report any deficiencies to management Review weekly work reports and other project expenses on projects you manage Review weekly payroll and backlog reports for any required adjustments or re-budgets Sales and Estimating: Responsible for following the assigned bid schedule and responding to customer request for bids. Development of a customer base and repeat business relationships including monthly customer sales interaction and marketing activities. Follow all estimating, bidding and selling practices established by the company. Coordinating the Project Set-up and Start-up phase of each project Maintain Bidding Activity of a minimum of 3-5 jobs per week. Close contracts on projects bid to total the annual goal within the final average gross profit percentage specified. Follow up on all projects bid including completion of all bid/sales logs with accurate and complete information to be used for customer/bid analysis per company guidelines. Enter customer contact data and sales data into company sales tracking system for all existing and potential new customers.
