Our group of companies has a strong commitment to safety that starts from top management. Every employee in the company including the entry-level field technician is fully empowered to stop working on a project which they know or even feel is an unsafe work environment. Our employees are active in the SWR Institute / OSHA Alliance that has helped to raise awareness, communicate, as well as provide outreach training and education to our industry. In 2015, our group of companies trained 2,648 tradesmen during the OSHA 2015 National Safety Stand Down to Prevent Falls in Construction. We pride ourselves in being actively involved in this and other professional trade organizations, and sharing safety resources with everyone in our industry.
Our company employs three full-time safety and quality control coordinators who manage our daily safety and training needs for our field operations. Some of our safety team’s qualifications include an OSHA 500 Outreach Trainer, Authorized User & Competent Person Fall Protection Trainers, Authorized User & Competent Person Scaffolding Trainers, First Aid & CPR Authorized Trainers, and a Qualified IPAF Aerial Lift Instructor with an AWPT Approved Training Center. At a minimum, all of our field employees are OSHA 10-Hour trained, while our Foremen are required to obtain an OSHA 30-Hour training. Numerous other field employees are additionally trained by third-party instructors for other special safety and access considerations.
Our group of companies hold weekly safety meetings at each of our locations. These weekly “toolbox talks” align with pertinent safety communications from the week and foster an open forum to “hear the voice” from our field staff. During our weekly safety meetings, our field staff are rewarded for the recognition and reporting of jobsite safety hazards. Additionally, the company has an annual Safety Rewards Program that recognizes employees for safety excellence.
