A firestop is a fire protection system made of various components used to seal openings and joints in fire-resistance rated wall and/or floor assemblies. Firestopping is not just one material or item, but an assembly of various materials and components that restore the fire rating to wall or floor system. These materials and components may include mineral fibers, intumescents, cementitious mortars, silicone, urethane, firestop pillows, and rubber compounds. Our group of companies have the experience, training, and certifications to properly install firestopping in a variety of building types and construction assemblies. We are Factory Mutual (FM) 4991 Certified Contractors and undergo yearly auditing for proper installation, record keeping, and quality control processes. We work closely with respected manufacturers such as Hilti, STI, Rector Seal, 3M, and Tremco.
